If you’ve decided to undergo plastic surgery abroad, mainly due to the great quality of care at affordable prices, you’d probably want to have at least an estimate of what you’d be expected to pay at the clinic. A price list of the procedure is a good starting point, but also Qdays Medical Holidays recommends sending a few home taken digital pictures with the area which is to be operated. This will give you a very narrow estimate, which can be made by our partner clinic after they’ve had a chance to look at some pictures.
An exact quote for plastic surgery is impossible to offer until you’ve had the chance to meet with the operating surgeon. This is a consultation in which the surgeon will speak to you about expectations as well as risks.

Maybe this isn’t the first time you heard about this absurd request from medical travel facilitators or even private clinics: they ask for a panoramic X-ray in order to make an estimate of the price you have to pay for your treatment plan. And you wonder why they make you see the dentist in your area and spend time and money to get that X-ray when you know exactly what you need: two implants on the top and two crowns on the lower jaw.
If you only need an estimate price for your dental work, it’s all so simple and easy to have a look at cosmetic dentistry prices available on most providers’ websites.

We’ve all heard about Top Gear’s visit to Romania and how they’ve driven the exotic cars underneath Casa Poporului (second largest building in the world), how they were stuck in Bucharest traffic for hours and how they were in awe at the amount of luxury cars in Mamaia (seaside resort recently dubbed “new Ibiza”). But most of all, we were proud to hear Jeremy Clarkson say Transfagarasan is the “best road in the world”.
All in all, the show was good, but the road is even better, and the drive is breath-taking. For the person being driven there, it’s a beautiful view, a great break from the urban clogging and a breath of fresh air. However, for the person driving there it’s an adrenalin rush, an amazing drive, and most of all a challenge for both the driver and the car.

Or why medical tourism should be driven by quality.
Qdays – Medical Holidays is a concept that’s always been driven by one thing: “Quality Treatment Abroad at Affordable Prices”.
There’s no denying that medical tourism as we know it (while of course being mentioned from the early days of history where people traveled to hot springs far away for therapeutic reasons) is now a global trend. It’s only been years since people started to travel for cheaper dentistry or other elective surgery. It’s the ever growing emphasis we put on the way we look that drives people to seek affordable cosmetic surgery or esthetic treatment.

As more and more people consider travelling abroad for medical care, it is important to look at the reasons why medical tourism is considered to be a viable option. An analysis of national health services in several countries around Europe brings out the reasons why patients prefer to travel abroad for medical care.
In the private healthcare sector, price is one of the main drivers for travelling abroad, with prices for cosmetic dentistry, ophthalmology, orthopaedic surgery and plastic surgery being up to 70% lower than Western Europe.

In an attempt to overcome the global economic recession, and help Romania’s economy back on its feet, the government has recently increased VAT from 19% to 24% effective tomorrow, 1st of July 2010.
While companies generally disagree with the increase as the government is sacrificing one of the last economic sectors still financially viable in the country, we come to bring good news for medical tourism in Romania.
